Your privacy is paramount. This Privacy Policy details how the Underwater Camera application ("the App") handles your data.

1. Data Collection and Processing

The App is designed as a fully local, on-device utility. We prioritize your privacy:

  • Camera and Microphone: The App requires access to the camera and microphone to capture photos and record videos. All image and audio processing happens entirely on your local device.
  • Photos and Gallery: Captured media is saved directly to your device's native Photo Gallery. The App does not upload your media to any external servers.
  • Physical Device Sensors: The App accesses your device's volume keys, gyroscope, magnetometer (compass), and ambient temperature sensors (if available) to adjust zoom, calculate depth simulation, and overlay technical HUD readings. This sensor data is processed in real time and is never stored or transmitted.

2. No Data Transmission

We do not run external analytics servers, user account databases, or cloud storage solutions. Zero personal data or captured media is collected, transmitted, or shared with third parties.

3. Permissions Summary

  • `CAMERA`: Used to capture photos/video under water.
  • `RECORD_AUDIO`: Used to capture sound for video recordings.
  • `WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE` / Photo Library: Used to save media to your native gallery.
  • Sensor Access: Used for compass tape, reticle orientation, and temperature checks.

By downloading or using Underwater Camera ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service.

1. Use License

We grant you a personal, non-transferable license to use the App on compatible devices.

2. Critical Safety Disclaimers (Important)

⚠️ NOT A LIFE-SAFETY DIVE COMPUTER

The depth sensor, water temperature, compass heading, and ascent rate warnings displayed in the App are simulated using internal device tilt algorithms and estimated sensor values. They are designed for educational, simulation, and recreational logging purposes only. They must not be used as a substitute for a certified physical dive computer or professional diving instruments.

⚠️ HARDWARE RISK WARNING

Using a smartphone or tablet under water requires a third-party physical waterproof housing case. We are not liable for any water damage, pressure cracks, device failures, data loss, or physical damage to your phone or tablet resulting from using the App under water.

3. Monetization and Subscriptions

The App offers a Free version and a Pro upgrade (available via one-time lifetime purchase or auto-renewing subscriptions). Purchases are processed securely through Apple App Store (Apple ID) or Google Play Store (Google Account) billing services. Cancellations and refunds must be requested directly through the respective App Store interfaces.

4. Disclaimers of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the App will be error-free or run uninterrupted on all device models under extreme physical conditions.

How do I use the app inside an underwater housing?
Most underwater housings prevent you from using touch controls. Open the Control Center Settings Drawer in Dry Mode before you dive to map your volume keys. For example, map Volume Up to capture/record, and Volume Down to switch between Photo/Video modes. Once in the water, double-press your mapped lock shortcut to lock touch inputs, and rely entirely on your housing's physical volume pushers!
Why doesn't the temperature show on my device?
The App automatically detects whether your device features a built-in physical ambient temperature sensor. iPhones do not feature built-in ambient thermometers; therefore, the temperature indicator hides automatically. You can simulate temperature variables inside the on-land simulator for verification.
Is the depth readout accurate?
The depth indicator is simulated using your phone's gyroscope pitch. As you tilt the device downward, simulated depth increases to display how the HUD layout behaves under pressure. Do not rely on this value for decompression safety!
How can I simulate the Pro Plan?
To ensure you don't get surprised in the water, open the Settings bottom drawer in land mode. You will see a prominent subscription status warning banner. You can tap the "GO PRO" or "GO FREE" buttons to test how the camera behaves under both tiers before starting a dive.
