1. Core Privacy Architecture & Zero-Cloud Policy
BailOut is designed from the ground up as an offline-first utility. We believe your personal alibis, scheduling, and contacts should remain strictly private. The application operates 100% on your device: there are no user accounts, no backend databases, and no remote audio uploads.
2. Hardware Sensors & Permissions Explained
To provide realistic simulated call triggers, BailOut requires specific operating system hardware permissions. Here is exactly how each permission is utilized:
• Proximity Sensor & Accelerometer (Sensors Plus)
Enables touch-free stealth triggering (such as tapping your pocket or performing a discrete shake gesture). Motion and proximity sensor readings are processed in real-time volatile memory and are never recorded, stored, or transmitted off-device.
• Microphone & Voice Recorder
If you choose to record a custom voice alibi, the microphone permission is used to capture that audio file. Recordings are stored exclusively in the application's local sandbox storage on your physical device. We never upload or share your audio recordings.
• Address Book / Contacts Permission
If you use the optional "Import from Contacts" feature to quickly populate a caller profile with a realistic name and avatar, the app reads that selected contact locally. Contact data is never synchronized to the cloud or shared with third parties.
• CallKit & Incoming Call Notifications
Utilized to display native, high-fidelity incoming call UI matching iOS and Android system aesthetics.
3. Local Data Storage
All scheduled calls, custom scenario scripts, caller avatars, and disguise settings are stored locally on your device via SharedPreferences and local file storage. You can wipe all data at any moment by clearing the app data in your OS settings or uninstalling the app.
4. Children's Privacy
BailOut does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children under 13.
